1. Introduction
Harmonia ("Harmonia," "we," "us," or "our") operates a platform that connects clients who need data annotation and other AI training-data tasks completed with workers who complete them, along with reviewers who help maintain quality. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and services (the "Platform"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your full name, email address, a hashed and salted version of your password (we never store your password in plain text), your country, and the role you register under (client, worker, reviewer, or admin).
Order & task information
If you're a client, we collect details about the orders you create, such as project name, task type(s), and the data quantity requested, along with any messages you exchange with our support/review team through the Platform. If you're a worker, we collect information about the micro-tasks and review tasks you apply for, complete, and get paid for.
Payment-related information
For clients, we collect the payment method you select and a screenshot or image you upload as proof of payment. For workers, we collect the payout details you provide (such as a PayPal email address or a crypto wallet address) so we can pay you for completed work. We do not collect or store full card numbers or banking credentials directly.
Communications
If you contact us through our contact form or reply to a message inside the Platform, we collect the content of that message along with your name and email address so we can respond to you.
Usage & technical data
We automatically collect limited technical information when you use the Platform, such as pages visited and general usage patterns, using Google Analytics. See our Cookie Policy for more detail on this.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account, and verify your identity via one-time passcodes sent to your email;
- Operate core Platform functionality — creating orders, assigning and completing tasks, processing order status, and reviewing submitted work;
- Process and verify payments, and pay out worker and reviewer earnings;
- Communicate with you about your account, orders, tasks, or support requests;
- Maintain the security of the Platform, including preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorized account access;
- Understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it; and
- Comply with legal obligations where applicable.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Platform, including our hosting and database infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) and our transactional email provider (Resend), which sends verification codes, password reset codes, and notification emails on our behalf.
- Between platform participants. Where necessary to fulfil an order or task — for example, a client's order details are visible to the worker assigned to it, and support messages are visible to Harmonia staff handling that order.
- Legal & safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith it's necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Harmonia, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If Harmonia is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you of any material change in ownership or use of your personal information.
5. Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, and we use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits. This does not include selling your data to advertisers, and we do not run targeted advertising on the Platform. For full detail, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and order information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, in order to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations. Payment proof screenshots and payout details are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for record-keeping and verification purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing with per-user salts, encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers, and access controls that restrict administrative functions to authorized staff only. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which can include the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most of your account information directly from your dashboard, or contact us using the details below to exercise these rights. We'll respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, our Discord community, or payment provider pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
